Viva La Revolución

I am deeply humbled to be an American today. On this day we witness regime change in the United States. Our new President is firmly opposed by many voters, and just as firmly supported by others.

No mothers lost sons. No cities lay in ruin. No brothers faced off behind guns and lines of demarkation.

We are America because we change. I love participating in the world's most powerful revolution every four years. I love vigorous debate and the healthy, public hearing of differences.

Viva La Revolución!

Facebook

Late last year, a friend invited me to join Facebook. After a few days, I decided it was not for me and left it alone for months. Within the last week or so, I have returned to Facebook and found a large number of old friends with whom I had lost contact. I'm converted :-).

If you haven't found Facebook yet, go have a look. High school friends, third cousins, and all of your neices and nephews are probably already there, just waiting to reconnect.

Ring Out the Old, Ring In the New

New Year's Day is an auspicious beginning for many who have prepared resolutions and made plans to accomplish them. In the spirit of self actualization and with the conviction that progress, improvement, and hard work are the necessary and sufficient characteristics of happy souls, I embark on my own resolutions.

I will eat better, exercise more, write more, and achieve more in 2009 than I did in 2008. That is saying something, because 2008 was better in these regards than was 2007.

Happy New Year!
